1. Introduction
Welcome to JobCalc, found at https://www.jobcalc.co.uk. We understand that your privacy is important. This policy explains how JobCalc collects, uses, protects, and discloses your personal data when you visit our website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently, in line with UK data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
When you use JobCalc, you're trusting us with your information. We want you to understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Please read this policy carefully. If you have any questions, you can always reach out to us.

2. What Data We Collect
We collect different types of information to operate JobCalc and provide our services. This data generally falls into two categories:
2.1. Personal Data
This is information that can identify you directly or indirectly. If you contact us or register for an account, you might provide:

Contact Data: Your email address, if you send us an inquiry or register for an account.
Communication Data: The content of your messages to us.
Billing Data: Payment information processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your card details directly — see Section 6 for more information.

2.2. Non-Personal Data (Technical and Usage Data)
This data doesn't directly identify you but helps us understand how people use JobCalc. It includes:

Technical Data: Your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system, and platform.
Usage Data: Information about how you use our website, such as pages you view, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data. This helps us see which parts of JobCalc are most popular.

3. How We Collect Your Data
We use various methods to collect data from and about you, including:

Direct Interactions: You might give us your email address or other contact details when you communicate with us directly, for example, by sending an email to jobcalcinfo@gmail.com with a query or feedback about JobCalc.
Automated Technologies or Interactions: As you interact with our website, we may automatically collect Technical Data and Usage Data. We collect this personal data by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technologies. More details on this are in our "Cookies and Tracking Technologies" section.
Third Parties: We might receive data from third parties, such as analytics providers (like Google Analytics), based outside the UK. This helps us understand website traffic and user behaviour on JobCalc.
Payment Processing: When you subscribe to JobCalc, your payment information is collected and processed by Stripe, Inc. We receive confirmation of successful payments from Stripe but do not handle or store your card details directly.

4. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect for several purposes related to operating JobCalc:

To Provide and Maintain Our Website: This includes ensuring JobCalc functions correctly and is accessible to you.
To Improve Our Website: We use usage data to understand how users interact with JobCalc, helping us identify areas for improvement, new features, or content.
To Manage Your Inquiries: If you contact us, we use your contact and communication data to respond to your questions or feedback.
To Process Payments and Manage Subscriptions: We use your email address and subscription status to manage your access to JobCalc's paid features. Payment transactions are processed by Stripe on our behalf.
For Security and Fraud Prevention: We use technical data to help keep JobCalc secure and to detect and prevent fraudulent activity.
For Internal Analytics: We analyse non-personal data to understand trends and patterns in website usage, which informs our development decisions for JobCalc.
To Comply with Legal Obligations: We may process your data where we are legally required to do so.

We do not use your data for marketing purposes, as JobCalc does not currently offer any marketing subscriptions or services.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)
Under UK data protection law, we must have a valid legal basis to process your personal data. Here's what that means for JobCalc:

Contractual Necessity: We process your email address and subscription status to fulfil our contract with you — providing you access to JobCalc's paid features.
Legitimate Interests: We process your data when it's necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party), and your interests and fundamental rights don't override those interests. For example, we use analytics data to improve JobCalc and ensure its security.
Consent: In specific situations, we might ask for your explicit consent to process your data. If we do, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
Legal Obligation: Sometimes, we have a legal duty to process or disclose your personal data. This could be to comply with a court order or other legal requirement.

We don't typically process sensitive personal data (like health information or religious beliefs) on JobCalc. If that ever changes, we would seek explicit consent or rely on another appropriate legal basis.

6. Who We Share Your Data With
We don't sell your personal data to anyone. We only share your data in limited circumstances, and always with appropriate safeguards:

Stripe (Payment Processing): We use Stripe, Inc. as our third-party payment processor. When you subscribe to JobCalc, your payment details (such as card number, billing address, and email) are collected and processed directly by Stripe. Stripe is a certified PCI Service Provider Level 1 — the highest level of certification available in the payments industry. We share your email address with Stripe to associate your subscription with your account. Stripe's privacy policy is available at https://stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Analytics Providers: We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic. Google Analytics may receive Technical Data and Usage Data. Google's privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your personal data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
Business Transfers: If JobCalc were involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal data might be transferred. We would provide notice before your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
For subscription data, we retain account and billing information for up to 7 years to comply with UK financial record-keeping obligations. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your Data Protection Rights (UK GDPR)
As a user of JobCalc, you have specific rights regarding your personal data under UK GDPR. These rights are important, and we respect them:

The Right to Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
The Right to Rectification: You can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data we hold about you.
The Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can request that we delete your personal data, under certain conditions.
The Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The Right to Object to Processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
The Right to Withdraw Consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.

If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at jobcalcinfo@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk), if you believe we haven't handled your data correctly.

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
JobCalc uses "cookies" and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and analyse website usage. Cookies are small data files placed on your device. They help us understand how you use our site.

Essential Cookies: These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of JobCalc. They enable core functionality like security and accessibility. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.
Analytical/Performance Cookies: These cookies allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around JobCalc when they are using it. This helps us improve the way our website works. We use Google Analytics for this purpose.

You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of JobCalc may become inaccessible or not function properly.

10. Third-Party Links
Our website, JobCalc, may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

11. Children's Privacy
JobCalc is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
